Day 93-95 Kuala Lumpur

Our bus was good and took the right amount of time?! Hallelujah!

We were a bit lost searching for our hostel. We knew it was in the 'Chinatown' area of KL but weren't sure exactly where.

As we turned a corner...we bumped into Keiran and Louise - our brother and his girlfriends friends, who we met in NZ!!

We didn't have a clue they were in the country,  let alone that street. What are the chances?!

We'd heard Malaysia was expensive but we think whoever said that may have been lying because it has some of the cheapest food we've had!

It was easy to find food like this for £1 or even less.

We met up with Keiran and Louise. We went to a brilliant street near their hotel, with loads of good food.

Then we went to a bar, where girls got endless free drinks? Happy days!

Alcohol is quite expensive in Malaysia and they're certainly not as big on drinking. We were told this is because there are a lot of muslim people who live there.

Keiran and Louise would not let us pay for any food or drinks (apart from one at the end).. they said they know we're on a big budget and our brother has bought them loads of drinks in NZ.

THANK YOU BOTH!!

It was sad walking home and realising how many people live on the streets here. This was just one small area but they were lining the streets everywhere.

The next day we walked through Chinatown and Central Market.

Then got the bus to the Batu Caves which were cool!

The city has a good transport system, with regular buses, metros and trains that are pretty cheap too!

Although you do need to be careful which area you sit in and steer clear of smooching (kissing is classed as indecent behaviour).

After the caves, we went to a shopping centre. It was well posh so we felt a bit silly in our travel gear but it was reallly nice.

It was weird to see nice clothes and smell nice perfume after months of backpacking!

Afterwards, we saw the twin towers, which are just amazing!

We made our way back via Chinatown..

And the following morning were on our way again.

Next stop...Singapore!
